Nottingham jumped to a 2-0 lead thanks to a brace from Jack Hopkins.

MINUTE SILENCE HELD FOR RUBEN #8
Sometimes wins and losses are completely irrelevant.
Streatham and Guilford players gather at centre ice before the U15 game this afternoon, for a minute silence as a mark of respect for fellow hockey player #8 Ruben Bousquet of the London Knightz Skater Hockey Club who tragically passed away this week.

U15 RUNNERS UP IN BELGIUM
Last weekend the Streatham U15 team travelled to Belgium to compete in the U16 Cold Play Sharks Tournament, where they faced teams from Belgium, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Finland.

Streatham only lost a single game out of seven in the round-robin portion of the tournament - to the Blues Juniors from Finland, with a goal conceded in the final minute of the game.

This was enough to secure the second best overall record and a place in the final with the Blue Juniors who were 7-0-0 in the tournament.

In the final, Streatham was the first team to score, three minutes into the first period. The Blues pushed hard for the remainder of the period with some close chances from both teams. Three minutes into the final period the Blues scored from a tip in to tie the game 1-1.

With two minutes left on clock it was looking that the game was headed for overtime. Unfortunately Streatham drew a penalty for slashing, and one minute into the penalty kill, they drew a second one for tripping. The Blues had the advantage with a five on three for the last minute of the game. With less than a minute left in the game the Finnish team capitalised with a rebound off the goalies pads making the final score 2-1.

A great tournament was had by all and Streatham U15s will be back next year to go one better.
